From Carter to Leader in International Logistics

Our History

Our story begins on April 25, 1927, with Giuseppe Cigala, who started as a “carter” in Ghedi, with a horse and a cart. A few years later, the introduction of the first truck marked the beginning of expansion, first nationally and then internationally, thanks to the involvement of his children in the business. Today, Cigala Trasporti is led by the third generation of the family and has established itself as a leader in the hazardous goods logistics sector in Europe, becoming a trusted partner for companies in the Defense, Ammunition, Chemical, and Environmental industries.

The Historical Evolution of Cigala Trasporti

Historical Documents

The historical documents of Giuseppe Cigala mark key milestones in the company’s evolution within the transport sector.

The first, dated April 25, 1927, is the registration with the Brescia Chamber of Commerce as a “carrettiere“—an activity linked to transporting goods using horse-drawn carts. The second document, from 1935, marks the company’s transition to a “road hauler“, with the introduction of motor vehicles and the entry into the modern era of transport.

These documents testify to the company’s ability to adapt to industry innovations.
